My broody had 3 chicks in the barn, today I could only find 2.One had drown in the big chicken water bowl.Mama usually stays over in her side of the barn with the little chicken water bowl and food bowl w/her babies.It was very sad.

I am so very sorry. It is so sad to lose a baby. I guess that chick got a little adventurous, you may have to put marbles in the big waterer until they are a little bigger. Again I am so sorry.

You can raise the big bowl off the floor so chicks can't get into it. I keep my waterer on a cinder block so the rim is about back height for most of my chickens. No chick is going to get up that high.
