I CRACKED ON ACCIDENT!

Hi! I am really worried for my duckling egg that I was positive it was dead, so I cracked into the air sac and quickly realized it’s breathing. I’m not sure what to do! Please Help!

What day is it on? Put it back in your incubator If you have it in one. If it’s from a broody, I suggest putting it in an incubator to help keep track of it and to keep it from getting pecked at. If it starts to dry up, spray warm water and some coconut oil on it.

I personally would cover it with Saran Wrap (any type of thin plastic) and continue incubating, and hope for the best.

@MGG did some experiments on hatching open eggs, and will hopefully give some insight.
