I bet! I don't think I have the energy for goats right now, lol. We will buying this cow in nice freezer ready packages from a friend of my husband's who raises beef cattle.Cows aren't even on my radar, but goats . . . nah, not those either. My friend Adam has some and at least once a week he starts a conversation with . . "Guess where I found the goats today . . ."
I think part of my problem was a bit of the legs stuck up above the water since I was trying to roast it whole. I saved that to me recipes folder, thanks.I took a screenshot of of a recipe @Ridgerunner posted a while back.
I have 2 cockerels to choose from when I harvest my rooster in April (he will be 3 yrs old)The 2 cockerels will be 7 months old by then
I completely misunderstood that part. That sounds more sane, lol.I bet! I don't think I have the energy for goats right now, lol. We will buying this cow in nice freezer ready packages from a friend of my husband's who raises beef cattle.![]()

I've never processed and eaten anything I've ever raised but my rooster will be the first.I already know his legs aren't going to be good to eat(read too many posts to believe anything else)I'm field dressing the sucker and only eating the breastsI think part of my problem was a bit of the legs stuck up above the water since I was trying to roast it whole. Oops. I don't cook old roosters. Or if I do, they are used for broth only and the meat gets shredded, mixed with brown rice, coconut oil and nutritional yeast, frozen into balls and fed to the dogs. They have NEVER complained!I cook my chickens in the crock pot and every part of them is delicious!
Love to have a good recipe for a crock pot if you have one to share. He isn't a big rooster and doesn't have much meat .I'm not going to spend a lot of time processing him. I just want to get it done and over with thanks!I've never processed and eaten anything I've ever raised but my rooster will be the first.I already know his legs aren't going to be good to eat(read too many posts to believe anything else)I'm field dressing the sucker and only eating the breasts
