I hear ya! I have a three yr old and he really picks up some nasty language from sponge bob! He watches it at grandmas house...we don't have cable at all have having' for a long time. They do have some nice parental controls now tho. You can even block pg movies! When we did have cable I know Sex and the City never showed up without a password lol.

(they own 'em) i had that bundle package now 3yrs later i pay $150 a month for it the internet was 9.99 now 29.99

but the tv's great. i get 16 extra local channels only cable and sat customer can get till feb 09 (when everyone will have 'em)

Heck, I hate TV, except for huntin channel, football (thank GOD its about to start!!!) and, of course, the Olympics, winter's my favorite though (I always wanted to looge or speedskate, or go pro in hockey. Oh well...)

I totally plan on being the cable natzi.. I am in control.. I was reading one post that you can block out certain programs.. is that just by rating or by progam..

and example of this would be..

I want "spongebob" blocked... so can I just block sponge bob or do I have to block all shows that are the same rating?

Our bill is $156 a month, $25 at least in BS taxes and fees, but we get:
Dish Network with approx 200 channels plus we have 4 TVs so we need 2 boxes
3MB DSL with the wireless modem/router
Our phone service including unlimited long distance and all the goodies

I'm happy with that. Heck my cellphone bill is a lot higher than that every month.

I'd block Nickelodeon, too...can't stand that channel. To me, the shows are sooo obnoxious...annoying voices and the worst kind of American animation. (I like Japanese animation better...hee hee).

Yep, one thing BAD about satellite...when bad weather comes in, screen goes blank or squared up.
