Well I have my spring order in with Holderread for 10 silky ducklings. But, I'm also in email conversation with him about picking up a pair of BEI's and two more black silkies....

So that would put me at 15 ducks right now, 10 more ducklings from him in the spring along with 7 laying females in the spring too.... what the heck does that add up to?

What do you think the chances are that I could sneak the BEI's and the new adult silkies into my current flock without hubby noticing? They are small...

WOW! That's a lot of ducks. You'll have to post picks when you have them all.

Goat_Walker, I promise to ship you some of the colored silkies I don't want next fall. They only sell mixed colors of the day olds, and I only want the black.... trying to get my breeding stock up.

All right now, where are MY free Dave Holderread stock ducklings? Huh??? [IMG]

    Just kidding of course.

I am having a problem too. The same sort of problem. I have three mature ducks, two six-week-old ducklings, three hatchlings with another nine potential hatches, plus five blue runners coming in the spring and ten magpies (all from Dave Holderread). I've been calculating, based on a presumed 50/50 ratio boys/girls, how many ducks that means I'll have next summer. Eighteen, I'm guessing. And of those, eight or nine are likely to be laying hens plus another eight or nine female ducklings (roughly)... that means... fertile eggs! Lots!!!

My husband is going to disown me!

Wow, Goat_walker, you did pretty good for yourself! [IMG]

Now I need to find someone who'll send me (large) Top show quality Silver Appleyard ducklings and some plain ones too... [IMG]
Need to add to my bloodlines.

Just kidding about sending them to me though, I'm going to try and do a split order with someone around here I know.
