I just placed an order on My Pet Chicken to get some of the last of the season day-old chicks. We'll be getting:

1 female Red Star (for egg production)
1 female Silver Laced Wyandotte (for eggs and beauty)
1 female Salmon Faverolle (for eggs and it's quirkyness)
1 female White Leghorn (for eggs, and because it might be nice to have one white colored chicken, and some white eggs)
1 female Barred Plymouth Rock (for egg production)
1 straight run "assorted" bantam Silkie (for my kids, who want small chickens they can pick up)
2 straight run "assorted" non-feather legged bantams (also for my kids)

They're due to ship on 10/18 and will join four seven month old laying hens - two Australorps and two Easter Eggers. Now my husband and I have to build a new coop that includes a brooder so we have a place to put the little fuzzies when they arrive!

I'm so excited I probably won't sleep tonight. [IMG]
