Spring? Who needs spring?

I bought a genesis 1588 and did my first hatch for the NYD hatch. I got a great hatch rate. This is so addictive I need a market for chicks or I could end up overrun.

It was all I could do to wait until the Valentine's hatch. Eggs go in in four more hours, yay!

Yes, I too hope to have a market for chicks, I am gonna ask the guys @ the feed store if they'll take some if I hatch chicks that can be sexed accurately, otherwise I guess it'll be Craigslist. I'm working on getting my flock NPIP tested.

I love, love, love it! It was so easy. I bought it in Nov, then went out of town for two weeks. I had to wait until I got back, just in time to set for the NYD hatch. I've already started looking at their website, I'm going to get a second one. I mainly want it for a hatcher so I can stagger sets, but I might as well get the second turner.................

I talked to my feed store yesterday. Since chicks aren't in yet, they said they'd send any inquiries for chicks to me.

Hmm. I really like silkies and frizzles. I'd like to do some of those. I I have two bantam roos one bantam hen and one old sexlink hen. (she still lays eggs too!) I have the 25 mix of layer chicks coming from MM. I also ordered four of the Mottled bantam cochin. They were just adorable. They are sending me a free exotic chick too. I have their cage, light, waterer and feeder all set up in the barn. We've had a VERY mild winter, to say the least. My son was out playing in the hose this afternoon it was so warm.

The chicks are due Feb 5 or so. I'm so excited to see them.

lol.....yup, I guess so!! What do you plan on hatching out first? I might sell the first hatch so I can get the hang of what I'm doing before I drop serious $$ for the breeds I want.

My Genesis is being delivered Thursday but I was able to borrow an incubator until mine comes. Yes, I bought eggs before I had a firm delivery date on the incubator.

I'm already trying to figure out what is going to be in my 2nd hatching!
