I DID IT! My first 9 block! *ALMOST FINISHED QUILT PICS PG 3*

Acres,

Dont mind the 1930's pink couch LOL - it came with the house

.

I have completed 4 blocks total - here's some pics for you. I have all the fabric cut however and should be completed with all the blocks this week I'm hoping. The 4 in the center are together - the others on the sides are sewn in strips of 3 (for the 3 blocks across) I just have to sew the entire block together, but you'll get the idea of what they will look like. They all need to be pressed so they lay down correctly as well, front and back.

I have 5 more complete blocks to do - for a total of 13 different block patterns - then I'll decide what colors will go where when I lay it all out. I have NO IDEA how to put it all together however, so I'll be asking alot of questions to you ladies out here

I hope y'all dont mind.

Hopefully everything will come out right and if I did my math correctly, they'll all look right

Oh absolutely - I will have a total of 78 blocks total - I have 6 of each block so I'm not sure how many of each one I'll use in the quilt - right now I'm thinking 2 of each one, but..I'm not sure yet. My plan is once they're all done I'm going to lay it all out on the floor so I can see which ones I like next to what. I also have middle strips that will go in between each block - they will be cream - then I plan on having smaller solid color blocks in between each "ladder". Hmmm.. guess I'm not very good at explaining it but think of a cross and in between where it intersects - there will be a 2.5 inch colored block there as well.

Make sense?

Of course, I dream big LOL - imagining it that way and doing it are 2 different things *sighs*... but I'm going to give it a go.

HennysMom---You are doing a great job.

I myself love the colors.

They all coordinate together. Can't wait to see it all together.

It is time consuming, but in the end it is well worth it when you see the look on the recipients face. A labor of love.

MY HANDS HURT FROM PINNING! *grump grump muffle grump*

I dont think I'll ever get this done and I have 5 more full blocks (total of 30) to strip, cut, pin and re-sew - then I have to figure out how to put it all together.

we now return you to your regularly scheduled program...

LOL

HennysMom---I know what you mean about the hand hurting. But mine hurts from all the cutting. I have never been able to pin anything and get it to come out right.

Your still doing a great job. I am going to get started on my other rag quilt today, didn't get to work on it at all yesterday. Raining now so I can't work outside.
