I did it! (well sort of)

I have processed three days... total of 22 birds with 69 more in the wings... excuse the pun!

It really... and I mean really wasn't bad using the traffic cones! At first I thought I couldn't do the actually cutting but when you are detatched from the bird and raised from day one its easier I think....

BTW its 3.50 to 4.00 here plus 1.50 for the gibblets if you want them.... I was way too cheap.

My Sister in law raised chickens and rabbits... they put a road in next to her property.. and the city told her she had to get rid of all of them... so she had us and all her friends come and help her... she had 85 chickens and I can't remember how many rabbits to do...in one day... My children were small then and still remember!

they thought it was fun to chase the poor chickens.... we were so busy... I don't want to know....

we dont have processors around here:-( Id pay 2.50 too!!! Last time I checked I had a traveling one-but Id have to drive 1 1/2 hrs one way and 3.75$ a piece wasnt worth it at all:-(

Congrates on getting your meaties. I have Amish around here that have done the deed for 1.50. I probably could barter chips for it. I still would rather do it myself. Its not that bad. I haven't been able to do the killing cut yet, but I can do everything else. I was squeamish at first because I thought it was going to smell really bad, but I dont find that it smells. I heard others say the feathers stink, but I don't find that either. What I do find gross is the little green thingy I'm afraid that I will break it YUCK. Natalie you can do it.
