I got the Little Giant 9500 for christmas (thats where it all begins) and tired 30 eggs from my own hens, they were stored properly and they were fertile. Those eggs didnt hatch. So I tried another thirty and nothing. Finally I decidedc to build my own incubator and I put about 10 eggs in. We left the night they were due to watch a night space shuttle launch in Cape Canaveral, Florida. When we got back I had ten pips. Then I guess I got the hang of it and hatched out of both incubators, each got about 30 eggs and had 100% hatch rate. Goodluck!!!

I bought my Brinsea last April and absolutely LOVE it! I was a complete newbie to incubating and hatching... my first attempt was with shipped turkey eggs. Just to test me, the post office must have played soccer with my box of eggs because it arrived completely bashed in on one corner. Still, I had over a 50% hatch rate on those eggs and I was thrilled.

Warning... you DO know that incubating is habit forming, don't you? Hope you have fun with your new 'bator!

Yes, I've hatched 2 batches of turkey and chicken eggs and had no problems at all. On the black "top" of the Brinsea, toward the right, there's a little hole that has a pic of a water drop near the hole. I cut a length of drinking straw and pushed it into the hole. To get the straw to fit into the hole I made a short, maybe 1/4" cut lengthwise up the straw. That lets it fold over itself to fit into the hole. With the straw in place I use an eye dropper to put water into the straw. Works like a charm!
