I was just looking around in the forum today and noticed a "Fat-Chick" thread. A member posted her concern of a fat bird she has, apparently this bird can hardly walk because it's sooo fat. She posted a picture of it and it looks exactly like my rooster, Shamus!! He's almost 15 weeks old. He's a White Rock. Stupid me - I did not know he was a meat bird. Do any of you know if he will he suffer the same "fat fate"? He does run a little funny, but other than that he gets around really well and is full of energy and his legs are very thick and strong. I thought he was pretty big, but it didn't dawn on me that this could be his down fall. I really love him and don't want to slaugher him.

If possible, post a pic. If your bird is a white rock, it will be fine. If it is a Cornish x Rock.... well... he's a meat bird. At 15 weeks your boy is probably like 15-16 lbs, for sure over 10. If not, then maybe he is not a meat bird.
