I have 6 Cornish Crosses in with my egg laying chicks, 2 turkey chicks and 2 goslings. I got them cheap (or was it cheep?
) because they were so aggressive at the Quality Supply. They told me they were getting nasty because they had overcrowded the birds and needed to get rid of some. Hence the sale
My cornish crosses are just fine and not aggressive at all, BUT I have 25 birds in a 6x6 foot brooder. I use three feeders that allow all my birds to eat and get away from each other as well as three waterers. Maybe this is overkill, but the birds are happy. I remove the feeders before dark and give them greens and pieces of bread to peck on as well as an unlimited supply of chick grit. I'll be able to move them to a separate pen once they get too big but since they're only here until mid-June, I figure unless I see aggression from overcrowding, I'll keep them with the other chicks.
This is my newbie experience. YMMV.
