I do the Stupidist Things!

Oh my goodness. That had me laughing out loud at work! I can just picture my roo hanging upside down by one foot. I have a sneaking suspicion he would not be so calm.

Here is the culprit:

The board above is suspended about 3 1/2 feet from the floor, the brooder below is covered with angled OSB board, so he was hanging down that far....to the right on a cup hook!!

This is when he was 10 weeks old. I am just happy he is still alive!!

somthing simelier happend to me, but it had nothing to do with the cage or leg ties!

I recently rescued a silkie hen with a croocked face, her beak almast completly twists around itself:

I went out into the pen one morning to feed the birds, and there was little Amaya doing her best impression of a bow knot, i was frightend at first and didnt know what to make of it, upon closer exaimanation, she must have been scratching her face, and got her little toenail stuck in her beak. she protested to the fullest of her limited ability as i freed her, and was unhurt. (thankfully)
Friends and family thought it was hillarious when i told them about the chicken knot, but i just worry itll happen agian

Poor little thing! So her toe nail got caught in her cross beak?? Tied herself in a KNOT even! Now thats a hard one to prevent, isnt it! Maybe you could trim her beak a bit, try not to go to the quick, where it bleeds though....I round my little partridge cochins beak off, not too short, and she eats just fine, but that way she doesnt get caught up on stuff. I only have that problem in hatchery birds, I've noticed...I guess it's from breeding...
Your girl is a cutie, hope she stays safe!
