We got these little ducklings in August when’s they were cute little yellow waddles. So I’m guessing they’re only a few months old now. I’m curious what kind of duck they are and if this is how they’re going to look as adult ducks. I’ve been feeding them grower feed, same as my hens. But the hens are moving to layer so I’m wondering what I can / should continue feeding the ducks...

Nope..those are Muscovy ducks..I’ll show some pictures of mine...they get nice and heavy...long claws..watch out..they don’t mean to scratch but it happens when you pick them up..they are an extremely tame bird....gentle..slooowwww. The males will hiss as they get older..it’s not mean..it’s just their thing..my one female does this coy bird noise..it’s sweet..she’s the only flyer..the others are too heavy...the tails won’t curl like on a regular duck, how you can tell sex..you’ll know by the mask..the males get more red bumps...much more as they grow...some think they are ugly..I love it...the more you nurture these guys the more tame they are..which can backfire due to prey..Because they are slow and tame..so make sure you have a safe pen, a good nighttime routine, Ok this is all the same duck.My Guy..he’s one of my favorites... I have 43 ducks..it shows him at a couple younger ages where his mask isn’t as full...etc... 7B29ABF1-78AF-4EFB-9917-600D924D58B4.jpeg DC3684A9-BBBF-4077-A835-74FB55348885.jpeg 60949193-EDC3-43A6-8F39-11EEA2BE0FCA.jpeg 4CDDECC9-29AA-4661-82AB-084A5E7213E3.jpeg 9F28444C-9922-40EC-AFC9-DD0B0306FA6D.jpeg

My males can’t fly because they’re fat...sometimes they do fly but only when verrrryyy hungry. But my hen never stays in the pen...but, typically they do not fly that far..my gal can fly about 200 f..which they say is far for they breed
That's good to know. My girl Coco just walks back with us inside the fenced in area. She's very smart. I like Muscovy WAY BETTER than Pekin. My Pekins are messy.
