What ever you do, DO NOT stop exploring this world because you're a girl.

Man, do I hate it when parents make comments like, you can't/shouldn't do that cause you're a girl CRAP!!

Girls CAN do anything if they apply themselves!

They used to call us boyish girls 'tomboys'. Ignore ignorant comments about acting like girl and be who you are. As a kid my bedroom was full of my pets which included several species of spiders in jars (a few escaped-that was fun!), various birds including a pet chicken, and the usual assortment of pocket pets. And guess who pulls a calf at 2 am in freezing weather? It aint the hubby, although he's good about having hot coffee ready when I get back.

remember girls an do anything boys can do, better! I always hated it when someone said I couldnt do that because I am a girl. I do it just to prove I could. The only thing a boy can do that we cant it pee standing up. Well at least they can do it without making a mess

I'm a tom boy all the way...I fish..run a bobcat...cut wood and stack...chop ice of my roof in Winters...snowmobile....hunt for deer with Dh ( he thinks its sexy?-we never get anything so I think its pathetic! LOL) BUT when the situation arrises I lerv me a slinky little dress to shock everyone that YES...I have a body under my Carhart jeans, baggy shirts, work boots, and ball cap! I don't do it often though. Be proud of who you are-the experiences you will have far outweigh the girls who stuck to being prisses~ The mascara...you suck-I'm jealous!!!!

Don't ask me how I know this!

what he thinks does not apply to todays world,he is using oldskool thinking from the 'olden days' when we were all meant to follow strict boundaries and stereotypes.

according to the famous pyschologist; simon baron cohen, neurologicaly every person has male and female traits-with some being more on one side than the other,so no one is truly a pure breed as such.

the only reason some people still associate interests, hobbies, jobs etc with either gender is because these are largely social constructs which are heavily ingrained into society, choose to ignore them instead if woud like-its not up to anyone else how someone leads their life.

am female to and have never had gender awareness nor understanding of its barriers due to autism, still recieve a lot of prejudice and bigotism over not looking or acting like the stereotypical girl but its naff all to do with what others think, remove the barriers of gender and will realise just how much freedom it creates.

My girls are the same way.

. They are very lucky to keep bugs, garter snakes(caught by our cat),toads and salamanders as pets. We catch monarch and caterpillars to watch them form a cacoon then hatch. We set them free. We never looked inside a frogs mouth though. You have me curious about the frog. I was very much a Tom boy girl growing up. You would always find me outside playing in the dirt or building my own tree fort. I'm very grateful my girls are the way they are. They get to experience nature and enjoy it to the fullest.

I was/am a mojor tomboy too :) I loved fishing, digging, climbing trees, wrestled the boys to the ground, I dissected road kill, and tamed wild animals. Now that I'm twenty one I wear dresses and makeup but I still do all those things. Except wrestle the boys ;-) By the time they are my age their pride doesn't come back from that ^_^

As for what boys do please, enjoy this video :-D
