i dont know were to post so im doing it here

aww thats really sad but so nice of you to give her a loving home for the end of her life. Im really considering it because they would be so happy to free range, they have never had grass under there feet before the one i last got melow she ignored the chicken food and live the first couple of days on grass and plants she loves it that much!

I know right! I recently got some hens off craigslist that once I seen them in person I did much care for, but I got them anyway because the guy had their beaks trimmed down, (most were right up tho the nostrils!) And he kept them in a coop all the time with no outside run or free ranging at all! They are young hens still, but for the first 6-7 months of their lives the were cooped up, so I brought them home and know the come and go as they please in the coop or out in the field! And so far they are happy and healthy form what I can tell!

the things tha worrrys me is some idiot has been letting ferrets loose near chickens i already have a stoat wich i think has moved or died because hens havnt been bothered for a few weeks rather that or they are to skillful to be caught and now idiots letting ferrets loose a friend has caught five after having some hens killed 5 ferrets! and my friends grandad has 18 of his killed at once by a stoat mebys my stoat moved there

If you already have chickens be sure to quarantine the new hens for 30 days; deworm, dust them for lice/mites and watch for any signs of illness ESPECIALLY since you know they're in poor conditions right now.

Make sure they are NOT sharing air or dirt with your existing chickens. Chicken diseases can be spread many ways, many of them related to dust/airborne and others through manure. Get the new girls, but protect your flock in the process. Don't rush into bringing the new girls in before you're sure they're healthy. It would be devastating to lose them all trying to save a few.

Hopefully going away christmas shopping on saturday so will check chickens are still in and that they dont stop for winter and ifso i will Hopefully go back on wednesday to get them
