Looks like a serious scrape. I would not put any more iodine on the foot. Usually it is applied just to the injured area with a q-tip or something like that.

I would keep her in a clean place - perhaps just add a layer of clean bedding to their night shelter and see how she does in the morning. And I would keep up with lukewarm bath time once or twice a day.

I think you caught it before it became a bigger problem. You just need to wait and watch and maybe after three or four days, dab just a tiny bit of iodine on the toe that looks hurt.

Looks like some raised areas on the right foot pad hard to see though because it's not real bright .I'd soak her feet. I use a 1 gal. bucket I've also used a plastic dish pan. Soak in either Epsom salt or reg salt which ever you have, then dry and put on the iodine, I'd soak everyday and use the iodine every 3rd day. Doing this may keep you from having to open it up. I did this with my hen [chicken] and her bumble is healed completely. Did not have to cut like others have done. Am I seeing this right that the foot has some swelling?

I wanted to clarify - I would not put anymore iodine on for a few days, then just dab some on the injured area after the salt soaks that Miss Lydia suggests.

Yes.Swelling on the right foot especially on the left and middle toes but not the right.

Thanks. If she gets a blk scab on these places that's what you want, then you may have to peel off the scab and soak and reapply the iodine, just see what it looks like in a couple days, post pics if you will.

Is she walking better today? how does the bottom of her foot look? did you feel all over her foot to make sure there is no splinter or something inside?
