Update, I purchased three nice EE chicks from "ThePamperedPullet" and the very first night one of them disappeared. They have feathers already (not newly hatched) and I put them in an area were I keep my other young chicks (but not together). Everyone was fine just one disappeared. I think I have an EE curse.

One this we should all make sure to encourage people to do here is to complain to the hatchery when they get EEs that lay brown eggs. Write them, call them, whatever, and make it clear that you're unhappy. Don't be nasty, just let them know that you don't like to have your expectations raised for nothing.

The initial result will undoubtedly be that they tell you that EEs can lay any color eggs and you get nothing. BUT if enough people do it, some day we might see them at least clearing up that fact in their advertising, if not keeping better tabs on their EEs to make sure they're not taking them too far away from the color genes.

I have not purchased hatchery EE's. My problems have been multiple for why I didn't have them, but I still have two chicks so we'll see.

Figured I would give an update to my curse. So I bought three chicks, after one day one went missing. It just vanished. The other two turned out to be roo's. I just recently bought a grown hen because I'm determined to get the blue or green (I'm not too picky) colored eggs. Well guess what after only having her 3 days she laid an egg. It was clear! Not blue, green, brown, or even white, but clear. The shell was soft and looked like clear plastic. I gave her some oystershell and I'm still hoping. Oh, I also have a cute little white American chick that The Pampered Pullets Farm (Eric and Le) gave me but it will be a long time before she will lay an egg (or crow depending on my luck).

Forgot to add I also bought some rumpless Auracana eggs and not a single one hatched. I'm getting more eggs, so I'm still hoping.

The curse if finally over.

Took me over 2 years, but today I finally got a blue egg

from my new white EE that I bought at The Pampered Pullet Swap. I am so excited about it.
