I dont think our chicks are too fond of 90 degrees

When I got baby chicks last year they were already about 2 weeks old when I got them. I tried putting the heat lamp on them and they wouldn't have it! I ended up not using it at all and just kept them at room temperature which was around 70. Now, I don't recommend it this low, it's just what worked for mine, but they had been raised outside before I had them. Go with what your chicks seem to need. Raise the height of the lamp until they stop panting but aren't huddled together constantly either. Also remember to hang the lamp by the hanger on it and NOT by the cord, secure it very well so it doesn't fall in and cause a fire hazard. Good luck!
