I don't want my dog anymore . . .

I was just trying to hit the quote button so I could give you a piece of my mind and I hit the report button instead. Sorry.

Anyway, on to giving you a piece of my mind: please, take it. You will then have some insight into the wonderful world of poodles. The standards. Have you ever actually seen one in person or gotten to interact with one?

Their coats can be trimmed in so many ways, but the truth is, people who don't know poodles have no clue he is a poodle unless he is in a recognizable cut.

What happens is something like this: Someone sees the dog, finds him beautiful and well behaved. They want a dog just like him and ask what kind he is. I tell them he's a poodle. They are shocked -- always. Then, either one is enlightened, OR one reverts to bias and ignorance, turns up their nose and and say something like Oh, I can't stand poodles. They are too prissy, ugly, French, blah, blah, blah. (BTW, Poodles aren't French, they are German.) Poodles are fabulous animals, loyal, highly intelligent, and very trainable. They do require a knowledgeable and dedicated owner.

Now, Cacky,

so there!!

(Psst, MY poodle is the UGLIEST poodle that ever walked the face of the earth. I posted a pic of his ugly mug in this thread.)

Sorry just so hard for me to have warm feet in the winter and she is so warm. I am mad at her for eating my basket again. I really need to figure out where there is a sled race and set her up and see her in a few months. Can Chihuahuas be sled dogs.

We dont have a Poodle but we have one Cocker Spaniel that is one of the most dumest dogs ever! The other is a Sheltie she's older and she doesn't shed as much as the other one.

cockers are 1 of the worst dogs for someone with dog allergies......don't know why.... i worked for a pet groomer for 17 years and every time i worked on a cocker i would break out in hives, sneeze and ITCH....UGH!

My daughter read bits and pieces of this thread. She has a few things to say:

1) People shouldn't be discussing her dog. (Me: I'm sure somewhere in here it's a violation of HIPPA, but we could probably divulge medical info about patients and be okay.)

2) She says this forum is a manifestation of "Obsessive Compulsive Poultry Disorder and that's plain wrong. Poultry should be in your stomachs, not your yards."

3) She says there are better things to talk about than birds, like "what's for dinner". (Won't she be surprised when the tasty new meat on her plate turns out to be her poodle.)

I think its funny people are taking this seriously. It's almost like when I crack a joke "3rd strike you're out buddy" about Crickets love of poisons. I love my dog despite his obvious idiocy, and obviously you all do as well.

I also think anyone who thinks a poodle is anything other than gorgeous and incredibly intelligent must have not had too much experience with them.

This is the Daughter, The poodle owner. First of all, props to you, you have the best avatar, the Alice in Wonderland Kat. You know, the one who smiles and disappears when he wants. Nobody understands why this Kat is important. It is quite honestly the best Kat in the world. How many Kats do you know that smile?

Secondly, I like the fact that you know when you see a good dog. Poodles are without a doubt the best dog out there. AND they are very smart Thank You Very Much to who ever said they aren't.
My poodle is not only smart, but he's fun too! My dog will get up on my trampoline and actually jump with me. So there!

Yeah, Cricket may be stupid, bit he's hilarious, fun, sweet, great with kids, protective, and smart enough to know who does and doesn't belong in the house and yard.

And thank you very much, I do love my avatar. My daughter loves Alice in Wonderland, and I love the Chesire Cat. I also love the mad hatter, but the cat is my favorite.

I feel I should also mention that I've trained Cricket to herd my flock. I free range my birds and haven't lost one since we let him take control. He puts them up at night, and comes in to snuggle with me and have his bone. You can't do that with a Chihuahua. I know, because we have one.
