Nope Florida Worm Lizard......I thought I dug up the biggest earthworm I've ever seen, but as I walked to the pasture to have my beloved chickens feast on the monster I noticed it did not have the exact texture of an Earthworm. On closer inspection I saw a tiny tongue flicker out of a spade shaped head..... It was a Florida worm lizard!!! It was a nice and shiny pinky pearl color and I had a nice time holding it while hubby got the camera... Photos later.... I hadent seen one since I was a child. I careful took it to the woods in my other pasture... Far away from hungry mouths or playful cats. I waited while it buried itself under some leaves and happily I went back to digging and moving dirt...... Then another one ! I held it for a moment then quickly placed it next to where I turned loose the other. What a special find.
