I edit the titel not to hurt anyone's feeling

Kelly, do you know how can I vaccinate the rest ? do I need to inject them or how that works?

thanks

Yea he didnt do anything wrong unless you asked him if they were vaccinated and he told you they were. You can only vaccinate for Mareks in the first 24 hours and the vaccination is only sold in bottles of 1000's of vaccination . Some people buy a bottle for a few chicks and toss the remaining.. some don't . You really should have asked before you bought if they were vaccinated. The vaccine companies don't make it easy for the hobbyist to do it without wasting tons.

Sorry about your birds.

There could be many things wrong with these birds; I would not jump on this guy and individual breeds because you've had a slight problem, the first could have actually hurt itself like the vet said, the second and third could have been egg bound, so please do not jump on individual breeders, I'm sure if he intentionally sold you birds to die, they'd be dead by now.

Some breeders also do not vaccinate because of homoepathic practices.
Once an animal leaves his property he cannot be held for anything that goes wrong unless stated; Its been over a year since you've had them you said, so I doubt he has much to do with it.

Omran, who did you buy those birds from? I'll PM you. This sounds exactly like what happened to me last summer...

You can actually vaccinate at any time, but it's recommended to do it in the first 24 hours b/c if the virus gets into the bird first the vaccine won't work. However, if they're 3 months old and haven't been exposed you can still vaccinate. It just depends on whether or not they've seen the virus.

I vaccinate for Mareks and Newcastle. I did have alot of interest in unvaccinated chickens and purchased Barred Rocks for those people. But after 3 months here they get vaccinated anyways. I vial treats 1,000 birds of any age. Newcastle innoculation is dropped in the eye. It is a tiring job; but we feel it is worth it. Trust me I would not do it if it was cheaper for the hatchery to do it. Jefferslivestock.com
