So... if I have a straight run of 100 chicks and they're in, for argument's sake, a 4x8 brooder, they'll have plenty of room. Then after they're old enough to go outdoors, I've got about 4 dozen each boys and girls, I put my four dozen ladies in pens with 10 or 12 boys, leaving about 36 males, which would be okay in a 4x8 brooder. Which is fine, all except for not having much of a clue how to build a brooder for birds that can actuallly fly, other than new babies, which mostly hop around. Are there plans for a brooder or grow out pen for quail?
