To the OP: Are you sure it was a crow, and not just the crying sound she is making?

That's what im wondering if it's the "im scared" sound and it just sounds like crowing but if the OP says it's really crowing maybe she's just a weirdo like your friends hen!

I was watching her this morning and when the boys crow their normal 3 syllable crow she stands up and does a 2 syllable crow that sounds like WahCaw. So anyways we have changed her name to RuPaul until she figures out what she wants to be

the male would make this "AH HA!" sound, in that cute little button voice and the female would "hahaha" right after him.

Buttons, I think died as a result of going "broody", she sat on 6 eggs for a week straight and did not move at all, then she got off, and the next morning she was dead, but she wasn't thin, is the wierd thing, Quailbert got out of the cage a few nights later and was promptly eaten by one of the ducks O_O I think, all i found was feathers,but no chicks were harmed, so i don't thnk another predator did it
