i am feeling rather dumb right now, as if i do not belong on ''the top f the food chain''
i have been trying, rather miserably to catch this HUGE wild buck mouse that lives in the metal shed, not to kill him, no, he's too beautious for that!
I want him for his reproductive stuff!, I am planning to breed feeder mice for the chickens/ducks whatever, but since the three girls I got the other day are just too cute, I wanted a wild buck to breed with them, I've had wild mouse hybrids before, and right from the minute they could see they were spazzy as all get out.
I've seen him three times, about an inch and a half from head to tail, FAT, got battle scars all up and down his ears and tail.
and he's SMART, he's gotta be to have lived long enough to get that big.
our first incounter was in the shed in an old pig feed bag, he took one look at me, climbed the bag a split, I think we were both surprised,
2nd encounter was in the livetrap I borrowed, he was cought but no sooner did I pick the trap up, he slipped from the corner of the door, and ran off.
third encounter was tonight, in the same pig feed bag, we gave each other the eye, literally, and as I was thinking about how to catch him, he walked here and there in the feed bag, even sat to nonchalantly give himself a thorough washing...then it happened
the bag opening slipped out of my hand and fell back down, he was off like a rocket
so I've been outsmarted again!
but the hunter never gives up his prey!...right?
I want him before the cats finally do him in!
