Hello as I said I finally have a hen that is settin on them. but the problem is I have some roosters that like to pick on her. she is in the big pen. If i was to take her and her 11 eggs and put them in a smaller isolated cage, would she still set on thm? Or will that break her from it? I don't want her picked on and the eggs to get broken. Please help as I want these little ones to grow up. Thanks to any and all replies

Some hens can be moved and some cant be. when you move em, they will stop sitting on the eggs. It maybe best if you can block her off so the roos cant get to her. Good luck......

Can you isolate her in place, maybe put a screen or something around her for a few days just until she's good and steady in that broody hormone place? Then if you try to move her, do it in the dead of night quickly, quietly and with no fuss. Have the nest all made up already, move hen and eggs and then just clear out. I moved my broody after she'd been trying to sit for two days, then I gave her fake eggs for four days or so till I got enough gathered, and then put them under her. She stayed okay.

Best of luck.

First of all thank you to all of you who replyed. 2 days ago i went and checked on her and she got off her original nest and went to another one. So I took the eggs that she was settin on and put her in a little cage so she could set on them with no disturbance. She has I think 11 eggs. She does try to get off the nest alot too. But she pecks me and ruffles her feathers when I come close to her. All the eggs are warm. I did check that. So I guess thats about all I can do. Hopefully she will still set on them. I do thank you for all of your help. Dusty
