I finally have chicks!!

I have 1 RIR that is a year old and 5 RIR chicks. They are not noisy. And they are all very friendly. We got 5 more because we liked the year old bird so much. It is by far our favorite.

The person that mentioned their Black Australorp is not friendly - I had the same experience last year. I had 2 of them. They were not friendly at all. They were very noisy. We finally decided to get rid of them after about 9 months. They also were just starting to lay (occasionally).

We took them outside today; it was beautiful and about 78 degrees. We all loved it.

Our Chihuahua, Mira, was hysterical - she decided she was their mama hen and herded the girls all over the yard.




My husband entitled this one: "What? Chicken butt." Classy, no??

yeah, I really think especially as chicks, they are ALL noisy!! lol I can't wait to see how my Golden Sex Links personalities turn out!! Each of my girls I have now are all so distinctly different, and I know each of these girls will be too. RIR have the "good ole girl" reputation that BO do, so I'm excited. Keep us posted!! I love watching other crazy chicken lady's babies grow up!!
