I found a baby chick on the side of the road

A man just left this tiny little thing on the curb so I picked him up.
Is it a chicken? If so what kind. It's roughly the size of a quarter.

Looks like a Quail chick to me. Your image is a bit blurry but I found a picture and it is of a California Valley Quail chick.

your location, the size, coloring, and shape of the head... I agree 110% with Birds & Eggs its a Valley Quail - definately not a chick.

Thanks guys, I never knew what a quail looked like even though I have been seeing them everywhere!!
I'm pretty sure it's a quail too, I looked at some pictures online, thanks guys!
