I found a baby mouse.

I raised 2 baby mice that were in a nest in the baler. They were the sweetest things, perfectly clean- no fleas or ticks, didn't smell and were just adorable.

I fed them KMR (kitten milk replacer) in an eyedropper until they got their teeth, which was about 3 days, then I weaned them onto blueberry pancakes and sunflower seeds. In retrospect I think that's why they got so chubby! When I found them their eyes were still closed, by the time I released them -about 6 days later- they were running around and hunting for the seeds I would hide in their cage. I figured they would be leaving the nest naturally at that time.

From the pics it certainly looks old enough to take care of itself. If it's shivering and not eating it may be ill, always wash your hands after you handle it.

That's just a good general rule anyway.

Well, I washed him of bugs and all dryed him off and sent him into the crule word I put hym by the garage and then gave him a little push on the buttom with my pinky and he scattered under the garage doore he is seriously that small that he can fit under my garage door Of course I washed my hads after I was done

If it were up to me.....I think I would have opted to destroy the mouse and any of his friends who may show up later. Yes, I say without hesitation, I vote to get rid of the mouse. They carry all kinds of nasty germs which could make your birds sick....Coccidia, or haunta virus, just two of many nasty bugs.

Just another alternative, in my most humble opinion.

Pro chicken, Pro environment, Pro green.....Objection to infection (via rodent!!

HANTA VIRUS! Get rid of the thing and sanitize everything it touched.

Since when does a mouse equal a chicken? One is a valuable and productive fowl which provides the world with meat and eggs in well-rounded nutrition. The other a good-for-nothing rodent which provides us nothing but disease and research cadavers.

"Some" people hate chickens, but mice carry more diseases, and I'd be willing to bet that more people dislike mice than chickens.

I say let the chick eat the mouse and have a "happy meal".

Rodents are promoters of diseases. Let us chicken lovers prove that chickens are not promoters of disease and serve an extremely useful purpose in this world.

When is the last time any mouse made a contribution to society?

I think every critter has it's place be it food or something that wants to make food out of something else. One theory of why the plague slowly died out is because the black rat was replaced by the invasive brown rat! Go figure:lol:

I say we leave it at that since the mouse was released back into the ecosystem.
