So glad she's drinking!
Re: food, probably will have to experiment with choices to see what clicks to get her started. In addition to the good suggestions above, here's a few things that could possibly peak her interest (not a main diet - usually just supplementary - but maybe could help her "come around"):
- scrambled egg (if you have Avia Charge 2000, sprinkle a little in after the egg is cooked - I also cook the egg mixed with the oat flakes from instant oatmeal, since my feathered friends won't touch plain oatmeal) - I don't give the egg terribly often as I think the protein is probably high but for her, and with these other things mixed in, not a bad meal at the moment,
- little cut up pieces of tomato or grape or apple (mine love all 3 as well as other fruits and veggies. my hen goes crazy for mashed warm butternut squash)
- little pieces of good quality multi grain bread
(but not too much because of the likely amount of salt in the bread)
- sunflower seeds - usually well loved, adored and coveted!
Unless she has an internal injury affecting her ability/desire to eat, odds her she'll come around soon and in the meantime, that she is drinking is saving the day. She'll probably be okay.
Thank you again for rescuing her!!.
