Goodluck with that wood rock! I raised a few once and let me tell you...Fun Fun Fun. Make sure you have a brooder with a lid, because at only a few days old they put their little claws into the side of a cardboard box and climbed on out! AND THEY ARE FAST! can jump like a kangaroo I swear. But they make the most beautiful sounds I think. You have one pretty baby!

Looking at some pics on Feathersite, it looks like it could be a woodrock... If it is, I think you'll need to hold it a few feet off of the ground and drop it. If I recall correctly, woodrocks won't eat without the drop (simulating the fall from the nest after hatch). Hope all goes well with it! I love woodies, but can't have them without a permit here. Great job hatching it, you must be so excited!

at about 2 in the morning i woke up and he had brok most of the shell of from rolling around . But the bottom part were the inbilical cord was was ripping and bleeding a bit from him trying to get it off and rolling . So i helped him with that to because he was making all kinds ofnoises and seemed to be in alittle pain .

I woke up today at 6 and my mom said he was still kicken and i just woke up aagian at 10.00 and he is still doing great . BUT he doesnt walk , Barely openes his eyes . He just like twists his neck and stuff and rolls around . He sems to have like neuralogic problems .

I just want him to get better and live and be a happy healthy duck .

Do you guys really think i need to drop him to get him started ???

Any info and help would be greatly appreciated

P.S he is deffinitaly a wood duck oh i mean "wood Rockling"

I dipped my geese eggs in warm water every day durring incubation and it hatched pretty easy right on day 28. Should I be spraying or dipping my duck eggs too?
