I've been looking for some chickens to keep Lucky company ever since the dog attack earlier this month that killed the rest of our flock. Anyway, I finally found some bantam chicks by listening to the swap shop on WTAB - AM out of Tabor City, NC. My daughter Emily, and I picked out 8 chicks to bring home. They look just like Lucky did when he was a chick. Emily is such a good little mother hen. She has been taking care of the chicks almost all by herself. She even typed up a schedule for them on the computer - when they are supposed to eat, sleep, etc. It's so cute.
I can't wait until they are big enough to introduce to Lucky. And I REALLY hope I didn't pick out 8 roosters!
