I gave in and started eggs today! Anyone else due around the 13??

I have one pipped, waiting for others. I've always used my broody hens, so this is pure torture. With the broodies, one morning you go out and have a brood of chicks!

Here's a NOOB question (just to keep the string running): Is it typical to see the eggs rocking and rolling on day 18? i guess it didn't expect to see any movement for another day or two. I ask only because i have my nose pressed against the bator window because i dont want to miss anything - do i have a couple more days of rocking and wiggling before i see a pip?

Oh yeah, I found out it is very normal ..... I just completed my first ever hatch .... 1st on completed on DAY 18 ! Many on day 19 and 20.

No pips yet... we went into lockdown about 36 hrs ago. They are rocking. Hopefully I will get some pips soon. Quick, someone reassure me!

Yes dear .... very soon!

I sure hope so. I want to "SQUEEEEE!" with delight over my newest fuzzies.

Plus, I have 12 Coturnix quail eggs to be delivered to me tomorrow, so I need the 'bator.

Do they always Rock n Roll?

I'm hatching miniatures so I don't know if that makes a difference, Been watching for ages and no movement. I'm so paranoid that nothings going to hatch out, probably because it's my first time.. but it seems too amazing that there are actually alive chicks in the eggs.

Also my humidity level is 70 is this too high?

I'm off out today to stop me from fiddling with the incubator

Hello, neighbor! Not sure if it is any different with miniatures, but 70% might be a tad high. I keep mine around 65, and others keep theirs around 60-65%, so if you can safely drop yours a bit, you might want to try.
