I gave in and started eggs today! Anyone else due around the 13??

I have 12 and 3 more are zipping! Has anyone ever removed the dried chicks before the others hatched out? It's gonna get crowded for sure in the bator and I have a couple that keep pecken at the new hatchlings.I guess they'll have to make do till all hatch

So, what name did your daughter pick??? Kids come up with the oddest names sometimes... My girls have chosen names for our eggs before they hatch too.

Luckily, this time they decided to start with 'A' and name each chick with the next letter of the alphabet. I'm hoping we get to 'E'... Though, I can't remember what name they decided on...

Last hatch we ended up with Winner, Clucky McCluckerson, and Bingo.

Bator's all locked down... Just sittin' on my hands... Waiting 'til Friday...

Yay! Finally 1st chick hatched at 6am today! Hopefully it is making enough noise to get all the others moving! Funny, it was the last one that pipped and the first to hatch!

Thomas, mine were quiet til the day before, and then they started to pip, and sat there forever! Some are still being slow, only one hatched so far, but others are zipping, or at least making the pip whole bigger.

So hang in there, it is tough to wait though!

I had one that took 2 days to zip, then overnight, one hatched that hadn't even pipped yet. Wohooooe

It's easier when they are under a broody. You just wait until she gets up off the nest. The ones that aren't viable are left.

This watching thing is hard to take!!

hope this bator works or I am back to my old barrel bator ..

I have some ^ Americauna eggs or what ever they are ,,coming in this saturday And white chanticlerc eggs .

So this hatch will decide which bator to use ..
I guess I better start up the old bator Incase this homemade bator does not work out ..
