An open door for free range. No one stepped out - we are aiming for a 15 inch snow fall total today. One gave the stink eye towards the sky!

Tehehehe!!!! My chickens love to eat the snow. Is that ok?

I wish it would snow here!!!!!! I don't see why they couldn't eat snow it's just water when it melts!

My chickens have never seen snow, it will be funny to see what they do when it does start to tho

Mine got hot oatmeal with banana slices for breakfast. It was probably closer to 'warm' when it got to them as it was in the single digits here.

I was putting compost on my vegetable beds today and collected the worms for my 5 week old chicks. It was a hoot, when they first saw them, they all gave alarm calls and then finally one was brave enough to pick one up and then the chase was on!

My girls don't like cultivated greens for some reason. A neighbor gave us some collards and the hens turned up their beaks at it. And they are 'southern' girls! Their breakfast today was yogurt, raw oats and black oil seed. I just love seeing little yogurt covered beakies!

Mine have turned up their beaks at plenty of stuff. Yogurt was a no-go for three years. Then one of the new girls decided she liked it so the rest couldn't let her have it all...

They also ignored strawberries and a few other vegi choices. They may just need one girl to try it and like it. Then you're in!
