I gave my chickens today...........................................

You can give your chickens yogurt that you would eat yourself!!! but don't give them yogurt that is loaded with sugar because it isn't good for them! I mostly just give them plain yogurt.

I saw this thread and was going to reply : Yogourt!... and then noticed it was already a topic of discussion. I bought some Bio-Best Probiotic plain yogourt and gave it to my chickens a couple days ago. OF all my chickens only my year old laying hens were 'big fans'. All my other chickens stuck their beak in and were like 'what is this cold weird stuff??'. Well there opinion changed!! Today i gave them the rest of it and ALL the chickens were going crazy for it! I scoop it out of the container with a spoon and just let them eat it off there. This works great until one of them gets a little too eager and grabs the whole spoon out of my hand

My chickens are getting what I call Chicken Casserole (no chicken included

yummy!! sounds like some spoiled chickens! Mine used to get veggie salad (broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce etc all chopping in a food processor) ALOT in the summer, but now with the colder weather we don't have as many fresh veggies :(

I froze some fruit and veggies in the summer so I could have some for them in the cooler months

I also did the same thing with the Halloween pumpkin guts, I blended them up in a little water then froze it so they can have goodies all through winter

Great idea. My MIL has a couple of I carved pumpkins left. I told her to save them for me. I think I'll try this. Did you grind them up a bit, or just slop them in a baggy as is?

My girls really love pancakes and the plain yogurt. (I don't think anything tops their love for Mealworms but they are so expensive). I feed them fermented feed each morning, twice a week I give them sprouted black oil sunflower seeds ( I'm in the process of growing some of the sunflower seeds in a little dirt for greens, the cat was laying on top of them this morning), twice a week they've been getting pumpkin, sometimes I cut it in half and throw it over the fence to them and sometimes I bring it in a cook for a little while. The next morning it's still warm and I take the pumpkin sauce out and put it in dishes. (They like this better). They also like oatmeal, grapes, bread. I try not to over do, sprouting the sunflower seeds only takes 3 days. They wouldn't crack them themselves. The ones I'm growing to about 2 - 3 in high and I take the whole tray out and let them scratch the dirt and eat the plant. We've had several inches of snow today. There won't be much dirt scratching for a few months now.
