I made it the same way I would for my kids...lol. They would try it and go right back to doing something else. They love it dry though. I am trying different things now to see what they like but I havent tried tomatoes, thats a great idea!! Thanks so much

Okay... So I went home last night excited to give my girls a nice warm oatmeal dinner after seeing everyones great posts about what they feed thier chickens and they hated it! SO we are now on to trying something else

Try mixing a bit of scratch or sunflower seeds in with the oatmeal. I bet they'll like it then. You could also mix in bits of leftover veggies or fruits, whatever you have in the fridge. I also have found that the first time you give them something, they don't always know what to do. So give it another try before you give up on it.

My chickens love oatmeal too!!!!! But the sunflower seeds, I'll have to try that.

we have a ton of wild currant bushes around the house, them chickens ate every one of them currants last summer! i dont care for um much so im glad the chickens love them, as long as they stay away from my wild rasberrys everythings good.

What my chickens got was oatmeal, sliced pears, with some cereal. I feel so bad for my chicken beacuase she is the smallest and she doesn't get any food.

I fed my 4 hens some kefir water grains. That stuff multiplies like sourdough so ever 4-5 days they get about a cup full. They love it and I think the probiotics that the water grains are full of is really healthy for them.

I started giving my chickens yogurt because we were experimenting with different favors. Sometimes, there is a flavor that is just yuck to us and then what? Choke it down because we spent good money on it OR.... Give it to the chickens!
