Oh, I am in Mt. Vernon, NY and have been trying to find something like it to order on the internet, but no luck. Does anyone know where I could get the split bamboo in my area?

Post on craigs that you are looking for bamboo.List the types you want or the height. My mom came across some black bamboo from a lady who put a sign out on the main road.Got it for $15 a large pot.Much better than online with cost+ shipping.

You can check with local bamboo growers in your area. They often sell canes and split canes as well. Sometimes they might even have resources to either hook you up with someone who can help you learn the weaving.

are they not a specific size? i guess i would want it for one chicken, not too big so it's easy to carry around. Depending on price, i would probably take two domes.

There are different sizes. I think something around 4 feet diameter would be aright. I will start to research the costs involved and PM you. Give me a few days.
