I give treats to the roo, and he gives them to his girls

I watched my roo, scratch up a seed sprout today, picked it up and give it to one of the girls tonight, it was so sweet...but then he want some lovin' in return...

It's so cool to see them do this and all the other little things they do for their girls. Good roosters are such a pleasure! Mine absolutely dotes on his girls and he's very well mannered with us too.

I have a roo like that as well...very nice...will call his girls anytime he finds a treat or given to him...the only bad thing...he's top roo, and has alot of girls..poor gentleman usually gets ran over for calling them...LOL

I have some roos that will cluck and give treats to their girls and their girls' babies, now that's a good roo!

awww makes me glad i have two separate flocks. each roo has his girls... that would be sad to see​

Yes, it is sad to see bachelor roos try so hard, clucking at tasty treats, trying to build nests and calling ladies to come to it. i just rehomed a young solitary roo and now he has a small herd of his own - lucky guy.

i have another roo i almost rehomed, as he tried to attack me last week. i think it was because i was wearing different colored pants than i normally do. But a couple days in solitary confinement changed his ways. Now he is back to clucking at his girls to give them tasty treats and they come running. He really is so good to his girls. He even does that for me sometimes - IF i'm wearing a pair of pants he recognizes.
