I got 2 eggs today!?

Hi guys!

So my one chicken out of three has just started laying eggs. Today I collected one in the morning, and one a few minutes ago! I compared the size with her other eggs and it looks like its from my one chicken. Is that normal? She also had a double yolk egg for her first egg!

A hen doesn’t lay two eggs in one day-you have two laying hens, unless you missed the second one yesterday. Also a double yolk is normal-as are wrinkly, deformed, or poorly shaped eggs in young beginner pullets.

Congrats on your new eggs! If they're the same kind of chicken sometimes it's difficult to tell their eggs apart. Youve probably got two laying.

Chickens certainly can lay two eggs in one day although that is a fairly rare event. In your case with pullets just starting to lay, I would agree that you have two seperate layers. Congrats on your first eggs!
