I had a abandoned/rejected Canada gosling that I raised over the summer that recently flew off with a wild flock and although I was heartbroken, but I was also happy for her to be where she was meant to be.

I was planning on getting some Chinese goslings next year during the next hatching season but was still missing my goose. I got an email from someone yesterday wanting to place their 3 month old goose they got as a gosling as a rescue situation__sounds like a Chinese gander or maybe a cross but not sure.

We are going to pick him up this afternoon and I am SO excited like a little kid!!!!!

UPDATE:

Well he is home and settling in. DEFINITELY a chinese but not sure of sex__he/she is about 3 months old and hard to say (came as a "likely he" so for now that is what he will be)

. I will post picts soon and maybe someone here can tell. I am SO excited! He is already following me around, likes to be pet, and "talked" on the phone like my old goose used to.

I am keeping him locked up in his night pen unless supervised until he gets familar with his territory. Plan to get company for him in the spring and in the interim, we will see how our muscovy duckings work with him once they get bigger. The family we got him from was really nice. They had taken him in as a gosling in a rescue situation and really did not have the set up for keeping him long term (and did not want to). He is PERFECT for here and I am SO excited to have a goose again! Just nothing like them!
