I got a new LG and I HATE it!!!

I know you didn't ask me directly but I've hatched 3 times in my LG and my percentages were:
8 of 33 = 24ish%
8 of 11 = 85%
14 of 30 = 46%
It gets better as you learn how to care for the eggs and getting to know your bator. I think my hatches will get better as I go along, as it already has.

JIM! I AM jealous!!!!! I wanna sportsman!!!! *whiney voice*

by the way...I just want to make note here, that you TYPE way better than MANY of the people around my area TALK!!! You are a down home- down to earth kinda guy that i think MANY of us adore because you're honest, humorous and kindhearted! I'm so glad many came to stick up for ya when this first started! I agree completely why you defended kelly....i took offence to what that person said about her and it wasnt even about me! LOL! HOw dare someone say that being frusterated from an incubator means you shouldnt be around animals for one! Then to get bashed for how you type....God for bid! Garh....peace people.....someone(s) he he needs their happy pills ASAP!

BIG HUGS TO all the awesome BYCers

Been there done that (peta issue stuff) people can be nasty here..or anywhere...HOWEVER i must say Hang in there...theres way more goodies than baddies...some people just think they can be nasty online because it's not in person...then again those same people are probably nasty IRL too. I adore so many of the people on here I'd give them a huge hug IRL if i ever got to meet them just off of the friendship I've made with them on here!

Don't take the turner back to the store, It will fit in your Hovabator!!! Mine fits in my hovabator anyway!

And I found the best thing for the LG to get the dial to not be quite so sensitive, just call me McGyver. There are dimmer switches at Walmart, in hardware, cost 97 cents each. Basically you have to put a little nipple thingy that comes with it (for lack of the correct word) on the original turner dial. then the round dial dimmer slides on top of that. Push it down real good and your teenie temperature dial that is horribly sensitive, becomes a larger less sensitive one. You really have so much better control of the adjustments of the temp. WOW did that make my hatches go way up.

This hatch that is finishing up today, the results are this. I put in 41 eggs and when I first candled them 8 were totally clear and not fertile, so out they went. (I don't count them on the hatch %) of the remaining 33 eggs, I have 23 hatched without a bit of help, (usually I have to help a few out) Thes guys and gals are out and eating and drinking in the brooder. 10 are yet to hatch but a few have pipped so I don't think that is too bad considering usually I loose half about day 18 urgh!

Try it out folks, it really works great. My DH was so skeptical till I just put it on there without "permission" and he saw how much easier it is to tune and without the horrid spikes up and down for 3 days. 6 hours and I was on the money 101.0!

i hate my lg also. so tonight i am setting up my new 1588. looks like i got me a hatcher!!! can keep temp pretty good if you never open it, touch it or look at it. so that would be good for putting eggs in and not bothering them again til hatched.

Next spring, we would like to retire our little giant. The problem we have with it is the humidity. In fact I think that the humity question is the most over looked part of incubating. I would reall like some input on the sportsman incubator. I am willing to spend some bucks on this. It does keep me off the streets and I just adore the little ones that come into this world from an egg. No reptiles though, they just did not evolve like the chicken did.
