I got me a screamer!

I have a black sex link chick that's extra vocal. She squawks ALL. THE. TIME.

She's about 8 weeks old now, but she's been that way ever since I took her home from the feed store. I've checked and double-checked, and can't find anything obviously wrong with her, but she just never stops! She even tries to squawk while she's eating! I'm starting to think she just likes the sound of her own voice. Needless to say, I'm really looking forward to DBF finishing the coop this week so the girls can finally go live outside!

As for the chick, sometimes they are just criers. I have a tub full of chicks and only one little polish that for the first week cried non-stop. It has grown out of it, but it's still one of the louder ones when it does peep.

is theyre other chicks in with her? it looks like a Barred rock and looks from the dot on the head to be a girl!

she is just gossiping lol

Maybe it was cold. I had a chick get out from under the brooder hood last year and wow did he scream. He could be heard a 100ft away as soon as he got warm he was good. Some people like it warmer maybe it is the same with chickens.

We have 1 like that. Took 4 that had hatch from momma hen because 1 died and 1 looked really cold. Brought them inside to put under the heat lamp and this 1 just wouldn't shut up. Eats and drinks fine. Plenty warm. Had it's hatch buddies. Then we gave them back to momma and it is very happy now. So I'm guessing ours was missing momma and yours must be missing you.

my chicken did the samething i would hold her 24/7 and now if i hold her then put her down she attacks my feet!!!
