so the chicks I have are ameraucanas not easter eggers? the sign on the bin at TSC said they are ameraucanas. either way the are adorable but I would like to know what breed I have lol

Not sure but usally the chicks from feed stores are all hens

I would say they could be either Ameraucanas or EEs. I bought my EEs from McMurray as "Ameraucanas" but I am sure they won't meet the breed's standards. Just depends on who supplies TSC with their chicks of this breed. Are they true Ameraucana breeders, or hatcheries breeding for the blue egg gene? Breeders of the true breed can be a little touchy about this from what I've read. Perhaps rightly so since there is so much confusion out there on this issue. Check out the Ameraucana, EE and Araucana threads in the Breeds, Genetics & Showing section of the forum. They all have a ton of info...

Well I got 7 pullets from the red pullet bin and three from the ameraucana straight run bin...and if my studies are correct I got all hens and possibly one roo (the dark brown ameraucana) I looked at their wings http://animalsciences.missouri.edu/reprod/ReproTech/Feathersex/sld006.htm
