Wait! You're in Canada and your MUSCOVIES have just started laying in the coldest part of winter?!!
So do you give them extra light, or heat their coop, or whaaaat?
Maybe the increase in daylight this time of year is more dramatic up there?
Well, I'm in SW Ontario, and our cold isn't as cold as the OP's Minnesota winter, but yeah It was -15C, no extra light, nothing. I just went in the barn and found an egg. Definitely a scovie egg, all my chickens lay either brown or blue and green eggs. This was def pearly white. My ds had it for breakfast today, and said it was def. a duck egg--big yolk and all. No scovie egg today though, at least not this morning. I need to go out gain and check.
(my chickens have a separate coop that gets extra light, but my ducks hang out in the barn with the sheep, cow, and horses)
