I got my first egg!!!!!

Finally at over 20 weeks, my barred rock came through. She was in and out of the coop all afternoon kicking bedding around so we knew something was up. I swear it went on longer than my labors. LOL. But finally out came a perfect little egg.
I marked the date on it and stuck it in the fridge - will eat it tomorrow probably. But then I realized I marked it with a permanent marker. Is that a problem? Sorry for the stupid question, but I see people saying use a pencil. Will the marker absorb through the shell or something.
