So I have 5 hens 3 of them I raised they are around 19 weeks old (Rohde island Red, buff orpington, amaraucana) The other 2 hens I purchased from a woman in Phx, she said they are both layin. One is a jersey giant and one is a polish hen. The woman told me they are around 6 months of age. Its been almost 2 weeks and only my Jersey giant has layed. She layed every 2 days. She was due to lay another egg this evening, but when I went out to the coop and check for eggs I found a rubber egg! I figure it came from my Jersey giant. I wasn't alarmed or anything, until I found another a few hours later. So my question is can a chicken lay an egg that soon after? Or could it be one of the others?

Right that's what I understood also. I didn't know if maybe because it was a abnormal egg if she could produce another one that soon. I'm hoping I have a new chicken that's laying

I'd bet that one of your other birds has started to lay.
They are often soft shelled eggs at onset of lay....sometimes more than one in a day from the same bird.
It can take up to a month or so before laying becomes 'normal'.

I really hope so out of 5 hens I only have one laying. The anticipation is insane
