ok first I need to get this out of the way..
now that that's out of the way. 2 days ago I put a nesting box on the floor in the garage where my babies play in and out of all day and where they sleep at night. Big box full of DE and fresh pine shavings. I also added a white golfball my DD found the day prior. Nothing the first day, or the second, but today yeah! Not only is it my bday today but God gave me another gift-my first silkie egg from a girl I hatched myself! I went into garage to get their daily treats and looked into that nesting box-nothing..not even the golfball! The nesting box was clean, so I sifted through it for the ball. I grabbed what I thought was a golfball and when I pulled my hand out it was the sweetest little eggie!! A tiny bit of blood on it but nevertheless a silkie egg!!! It had to have come from my buff girl and white roo-woo-hoo. The others the same age were stil in their cages!!! this is so exciting!! I want to incubate it but I put the bator away a bit ago until Spring...I may pull it out if I get consistent eggs. ENough to collect a few weeks worth I guess
