I got Sulmet...now what??

I'm afraid I've already far exceeded their cost. But, I love them! Especially my Lovebug

She's the best chicken ever!!

Yep, our flock is so tame and spoiled that most folks would not believe that chickens are that tame or smart.

Keeping a close eye on the girls is a good thing. If the eggs are looking good, and the birds appear to be healthy, then you prolly have a healthy flock.

They change from time to time like all living creatures and nothing stays perfect without a bump here and there.

Drastic changes are the things that need attention before things get worse....hope this helps some.

Chickaroo, did you get the liquid sulmet? You should keep some on hand anyway along with some terrimycin just in case.

Lurky,
I could only find the Sulmet in pill form at my local Tractor Supply. I'm not even sure if they need it, although, my vet said it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to treat them w/it anyway.

if you want to have another fecal check done..just take one sample.

but go to another vet if you can.

liquid Sulmet is usually widely available.
I prefer amprolium, or Corid..but lots of people use Sulmet.
just make sure you follow the directions exactly.

What works best for me in regards to a fecal sample , is to mix the droppings from 3 or 4 birds, and provide the one sample to give you a more complete sample from the flock with only one fee being charged.

Bigzio, if you mix the samples, how do you know exactly what chicken has what? Or do you just presume that if one has something, they all more than likely have it?
