I had no idea that when a chick is dust bathing it looks like it is dying! I thought it was having a seizure or was injured! Anyone else surprised by something completely normal? lol

It’s very surprising when your not used to seeing chicks ductbathe :jumpy

Mine usually get me scared when they sunbathe with their eyes closed and legs stretched out :barnie
Yes! I dislike that when the chicks lay like that! Scares me! These are my first chickens, I do not know much about chicken behaviour!

I'm sorry but I had to laugh...that said I can understand how someone who hasnt seen a dust bathing chicken do it's thing would be shocked buy it...dirt flying everywhere chicken rolling on its side...yup scary to the untrained eye. Your observant you will be a good chicken keeper:thumbsup

What breeds do you have your chicks are adorable!
Thanks! I sure love them! I have a bunch of random ones.

1 light sussex
1 rockette
1 production red
1 caramel queen
1 hambright (cross between a hamburg and a seabright)
1 black copper maran
2 mixed breeds (silkie, americauna and maran)

I sure enjoy them already!! But a few times they have baffled me and made me call my chicken loving friend for advice!
